Advocacy for the Child-Father Bond

Fathers & Families is a Massachusetts non-profit organization advocating for the right of every child to have two parents. Called by some a "fathers' rights organization," Fathers & Families is made up of men and women who believe that fathers are an essential part of a child's life and that divorce or separation should not change this.

Our Mission

Fathers & Families protects the child's right to the love and care of both parents. We seek shared parenting for the children of divorced and never-married parents, with equal rights and responsibilities for fathers and mothers.

Our Core Principles:

  • Shared parenting
  • Gender equality
  • Respect for human rights
Fathers & Families' vision is a society in which:
  • Children have a natural right to be nurtured by both parents.
  • Society treats fathers and mothers as equally important to the wellbeing of their children.
  • Shared parenting after separation or divorce is the norm.
  • The courts arrange finances after separation or divorce so that both mothers and fathers can afford to house and care for their children and themselves.
  • Our culture, media, courts, legislators, professions, government agencies and philanthropic organizations understand and respect the essential roles of fathers.
